Bryon & Gareth - Wedding Photography

The first one is in the books!

On Friday the 27th May 2022 I had the privilege of being a groomsmen at one of my best friends’ wedding, which was awesome! The next day though on Saturday 28th May, Bryony & Gareth had chosen me to capture their wedding party that evening so I just had to make sure I behaved myself the night before as a groomsmen and didn’t party too hard 😂

I’m not going to lie, it was a mix of emotions for me as I knew I was ready for it, I’d prepared everything I needed, I had my shot list (thanks to Bryony providing me with some location shots via WhatsApp a few months earlier), everything was charged and everything was packed then checked, then double checked, then triple checked…BUT it was my first job of the summer and my first ever wedding related job, so I was naturally a little nervous. Just like in hockey, you never know what’s going to happen or if anything will go wrong.

Bryony & Gareth got married a few weeks prior at the offices in Cardiff and decided to throw one hell of a party for all their friends and family at their parents’ farm in Ystrafelte. Not just any party but they threw a barn party with Mario kart, beer pong, a live band, badminton and swing ball! Friends came and pitched their tents up on the huge field outside and honestly, it was like being at a little mini festival, it was wicked! To finish it off they had a Thai Street food van serving Chicken Pad Thai to keep everyone going. Honestly though, the venue, to say it was ‘homemade’ was amazing and if I was her parents I’d be thinking about hiring it out for weddings in the future because it was genuinely that awesome!

We started the evening with some shots of the bride and groom in their wedding dress and suit at some really picturesque locations around the grounds before then heading back to party, letting Gareth get out of his suit and getting shots of the whole vibe and atmosphere. As the sun got lower and started to set, it almost resembled a Sommersby Cider advert, it was that perfect! When the live band kicked off the party started flowing properly, beer pong was a big spectacle inside and the dance floor was packed and bordered off with hay bales for people to take a break on and soak it all in. Basically it was exactly how you’d envision a party to be!

I couldn’t ask for a better couple to be my first wedding clients, so thank you Bryony & Gareth.

I have lots of shoots lined up over the coming weeks but as for weddings, it’s on to the next now…in Greece!!!
